I’ve got two words to describe this September wedding: elegant, and fun! It was truly the perfect combination of class, and lightheartedness. From the minimalist floral ceremony backdrop, to the cheery wildflower place cards, Meghan & Russel really let their personalities shine while also creating a timeless scene. I have no doubt that their grandchildren will look back on these photos and think “Wow, this wedding could have taken place 50 years ago or yesterday. Also my grandma is a serious babe.”

When I think of Brittany and Lisa’s wedding I think glam, romantic, and fun. I also think, “wow how lucky was I to get to play on two gorgeous grand pianos in one night?!”. Lisa and Brittany are huge music lovers and had a clear vision of the atmosphere they wanted to create from the beginning of the night all the way through the end. I began by playing soft welcome music inside the lavish parlor as guests arrived for the ceremony (grand piano #1). They walked through the parlor out into the courtyard for the ceremony to watch these two sweeties tie the knot! After the ceremony, I played some upbeat pop covers outside for the cocktail hour like “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn, “Suit & Tie” by Justin Timberlake, and “How Deep is Your Love” by The Bee Gees. The guests mingled and enjoyed a few drinks in the beautiful courtyard, then it was time to move inside to the ballroom for dinner.

This church wedding ceremony was the epitome of traditional romance with a touch of Christmas magic. Honestly, I don’t know what’s better than a Christmas wedding. They’re basically a Hallmark movie come-to-life and I am 100% HERE for it.

We got married at Mercury Hall, a venue right in the heart of South Austin. It was a crisp, but Sunny day in January (the Texas weather gods blessed us). We had a small wedding of about 75 people. It was very important to both of us that we were very close with every single person in attendance. We wanted to show each guest our love by writing everyone a personal, hand written note (took forever but was so worth it). We placed the love notes on everyone’s dinner plates so they got a fun little surprise when they found their seats for the reception. And we also each wrote a surprise note for the other which we got to read when we sat down to dinner.

Let me start off by saying I became a Beatles fan in 2020. I know that’s a weird thing to say because like, where have I been? But during the pandemic I had some spare time (okay lots of spare time) to finally sit down and listen to the entire Beatles catalogue. And I can confidently now say…I’m a Paul girly. That all being said, I love The Beatles and I love a good wedding day surprise! And Lauren gave me the opportunity to put those two loves together…

It was January of 2019. We had just arrived in New York City (our favorite city in the world other than Austin!) to play a couple shows. We had decided to go a little early to enjoy the city for a few days and let’s be honest – eat every bagel in sight. Jordan had booked us an AirBnb in The Village nearby our favorite comedy and jazz clubs, and we were all showered up and ready to go to dinner. We were just strolling around, taking in the sights in the beautiful crisp Winter air and decided to walk through Washington Square Park.
