Real Wedding: Emily + Matthew

“I found Mikaela through The Knot and started listening to her music! I immediately fell in love with her voice and knew I wanted her for my wedding ceremony. We chose to have her perform solo with piano and it was amazing! I had so many people compliment her...even the DJ reached out later to find out who she was! She set the mood perfectly prior to ceremony and brought me to tears with “Holy Spirit” during communion. Mikaela is so sweet and easy to work with! She loves what she does and it shines through in her performance. She made our wedding music so very special!” - Emily R (ceremony)

Emily + Matthew’s wedding at Camp Lucy was the perfect mix of classic with a splash of fun. From the gorgeous berry bridesmaid dresses and the rustic woodwork, to the lovable alpacas (yes - alpacas!), it was an unforgettable, joy-filled evening! Camp Lucy is one of my favorite venues in the Austin area and you can never go wrong with an Ian’s Chapel ceremony.

I played light instrumental piano prelude music to set the tone as guests arrived and began singing Louis Armstrong’s, “What A Wonderful World” as the parents were escorted to their seats. The bridal party and adorable trio of flower girls followed next to Ellie Goulding’s beautiful ballad, “How Long Will I Love You”.

There was a slight pause between songs as the entire crowd held their breath waiting for Emily’s grand entrance. A striking white car pulled up at the end of the isle, and Emily stepped out (like a bridal boss). I played the traditional bridal march, “Here Comes the Bride” while trying to hold back tears as she made her way down the aisle.

Emily & Matthew wanted their first act as a married couple to be a special act of their faith. After they said their vows, they stepped to the side and took communion together as I sang “Holy Spirit” by Francesca Battistelli - a truly stunning moment. The ceremony ended with a kiss and a roar from their friends and family. The couple danced down the aisle together while I played them out to Stevie’s hit song, “Signed Sealed Delivered”.

This ceremony could NOT have been more perfect and I’m so happy for you both!! Thank you for letting me share these beautiful moments with you! ❤️

Highlights: old fashioned car bridal entrance, communion during the ceremony, display of old family wedding pictures, those shoes, alpacas, donkeys, and puppies - oh my!
