Kendall & Wes’ wedding was like a modern Hill Country fairytale – with a little country flavor. Brightly colored florals and string lights hung from every surface (the walls, ceiling, and even the trees), butterflies and delicate botanicals adorned the dance custom floor, and Kendall was absolute bridal perfection. And I might be biased, but the music was just chef’s kiss.
We had three different locations, setups, and instrumentations that flowed seamlessly throughout the evening. Kendall wanted a romantic feel for the ceremony so we started with a trio of piano & vocals, cello, and violin. During the prelude, we played pop and country love songs like “Still the One” by Shania Twain, and “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez. As the ceremony began, we softly started with “Marry Me” by Train for family processionals, followed by “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri for the bridal party. For Kendall’s grand entrance, she chose a ceremony favorite, “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis. This song always gets me, y’all. To close it out, we sent them off to “Signed Sealed Delivered” by Stevie Wonder.
Guests were greeted with champagne, chandeliers, and more live music as they walked into cocktail hour. We played as an acoustic duo with a fun playlist of country tunes and classic throwbacks like “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac, “On The Road Again” by Willie Nelson, and “Cowboy Take Me Away” by The Chicks.
Finally, everyone stepped inside the reception hall, taking in what I can only describe as the most flowers ever. The room erupted as we announced the newlyweds in, and they had their first dance to “When You Say Nothing at All” by Alison Krauss. Kendall and Wes opted for a less traditional reception with open seating and a plethora of dinner stations featuring cuisines from around the world, inviting guests to mingle and graze throughout the evening. During dinner, we played as a duo with piano, guitar, & vocals while guests explored the room and enjoyed a live painter, sketch artist, cigar roller, and the groom’s cakes – incredibly lifelike animals as a nod to their love of hunting (see below). Our dinner set included a few of the couple’s favorites, like “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young, “Late to the Party” by Kacey Musgraves, and “Ghost” by Justin Bieber.
After dinner, a lively country band took over, keeping the dance floor full before the night ended with a cold sparks send-off. Shoutout to Rachel of Keely Thorne Events for orchestrating an absolutely perfect evening. Thank you so much for letting us sing for you all night!
