Real Micro-Wedding: Emma Cate + Matt

“Our family and our guests were absolutely blown away by Mikaela and Jordan's talent and their beautiful voices & music at our daughter's ceremony and reception. Mikaela was not only a dream to work with and an utmost professional, but also extremely helpful in the planning from start to finish. We could not recommend more highly. If we could give them ten stars, we would! Thank you, Mikaela and Jordan, for making our daughter and son-in-law's big day a most memorable one for all who attended.” - Traci G (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, & first dances)

Now, let me just say - I absolutely adore micro weddings. There is something so intimate and magical about experiencing your most special day with your most special people. Emma Cate & Matt got married on a beautiful March day surrounded by about 20 of their closest friends and family. There was nothing but love and warmth emanating throughout the day and every person there felt like they were in on a secret. This wedding seriously felt like a French countryside scene from a renaissance painting. From the intricate table settings, scenic field views, and romantic candelabras, to Emma Cate’s leaf motif veil that matched her lacy dress, it was just a dream.

Their ceremony was held at a tiny white chapel overlooking a beautiful grassy field and serene pond. We played soft instrumentals on guitar and piano while their guests took their seats and family members lined up. Their parents and grandparents began the processionals as we played one of my favorite classical pieces, Bach’s “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring”. We transitioned seamlessly into “Canon in D” by Pachelbel as the bridal party, groom, and minister made their way down the rose pedal strewn aisle. Finally, Emma Cate and her father stepped out from behind the nearby barn across the field. As they walked toward the chapel, we played an acoustic duo arrangement of “You Are the Reason” by Calum Scott. After a lovely ceremony with traditional vows, Emma Cate and Matt were married! We played them off into the sunset to “Signed Sealed Delivered” by Stevie Wonder.

After the ceremony, everyone made their way up the hill to the beautiful wooden house for the reception. We played a mix of upbeat tunes and country love songs as appetizers and cocktails were passed out. When they newlyweds were ready, we announced them into the reception hall to loud cheers from their friends and family. They went right into their first dance, “Then” by Brad Paisley. We played a stripped down version for them as they swayed on the dance floor. Shifting into quieter, slower songs we continued to play throughout dinner and the rest the night while everyone ate, drank, laughed, and gave toasts.

Thank you so much for letting us provide the musical backdrop for this incredible, intimate wedding! We will never forget this one. ❤️✨
