Real Wedding: Ayelet + Harrison
Everything about Ayelet + Harrison’s wedding day was timeless and elegant. White and black details, greenery, votive candles, and so much love.
This was an incredibly special ceremony for me to sing for because not only were these two some of the sweetest and most in love humans I’ve ever met, but I also got to sing in 3 songs Hebrew! I grew up going to Jewish school and studied the ancient language for about 8 years. While I have sadly forgotten nearly everything I learned and definitely can’t speak it, I adore singing in Hebrew.
I sang "Mi Adir” as Harrison and his parents walked down the aisle, then switched to a chill version of “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne for the bridal party. Finally, as Ayelet began her entrance with her parents by her side, I played a classic Jewish wedding song, “Boi Beshalom”. The lyrics speak of a bride coming with peace to her husband. After vows and rings were exchanged, Harrison broke the glass and I led everyone in singing “Siman Tov Mazel Tov” (a traditional song of congratulations and good fortune) while they headed back down the aisle as husband and wife!
I love challenging myself as a vocalist and have always loved singing in other languages (French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Hebrew), so this was such a treat for me. Thank you for including me in such a special moment in your lives.
