Real Wedding: Tracie + Jacobus
Every moment of Tracie + Jacobus’ wedding was charming and intentional. Stolen moments in the hallways of the gorgeous Austin Proper (y’all know how I feel about this hotel), the customized table cloth with embroidered names and artifacts from their love story and life together, and a small gathering of a handful of close friends and family members. Not to mention a gorgeous millefoglie cake moment and martinis flowing.
I played during the cocktail hour and for their special dances in the stunning lounge area. For cocktail hour, they wanted a mixture of instrumental piano and vocals on the Proper’s beautiful clear piano. I played songs like “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse, “Always Remember Us This Way” by Lady Gaga, and “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys while guests sipped their cocktails and debriefed on the beautiful church ceremony.
Tracie + Jacobus chose “Easy on Me” by Adele for their first dance together, “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King for the father/daughter dance, and “Time After Time” by Eva Cassidy for the mother/son dance. Everyone danced in this little nook right by the piano, twirling and dipping like pros. Then the whole room erupted with a big dance party for the rest of the evening.
It was such a joyful, radiant evening that I will never stop reminiscing about. Thanks for letting me sing for y’all!
