Real Elopement: Christy + Scott

Christy + Scott are two of the most vibrant and in love couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of singing for. They planned an elopement at The Commodore Perry Estate on a Wednesday in June. I adore playing for weddings and all kinds of events, but it is such a privilege to play for an elopement, and to witness to such a special moment between just two people. Okay, I’m actually getting choked up thinking about it, just give me a minute…

Christy was so excited about planning their day from the very first time we spoke and honestly - she absolutely knocked it out of the park. She had the day mapped out from start to finish, and a clear vision for the music.

They started off getting ready and taking a few photos in the stunningly designed estate. We setup by some gorgeous oak trees on the lower side of the property and with Scott and the officiant in place, we began playing Christy’s entrance song, “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle. She walked out the glass doors of the main building and took her time down the long walkway to her groom. Once she got in place, she took Scott’s hands and they were led through sweetest ceremony. They sealed their vows with a kiss and we played “Right Left Hand” by George Jones for their recessional back up the path.

Post-ceremony they had a cocktail and took some more photos together on the grounds. Meanwhile, we got reset for dinner and quickly relocated to the patio of the Garden Nook room, just off the main dining area. Tea candles, a table was set for two, and a velvet love seat were such a vibe for their intimate dinner. We kept the French doors open, playing love songs while Christy + Scott enjoyed a beautiful meal and bottle of wine together. When they were ready, we played “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis for their first dance as husband and wife, then quietly snuck out so they could enjoy the rest of their evening together - just the two of them.

It truly doesn’t matter how old you are, how many guests you have, if you get married at a chateau in France, the local courthouse, or in your mom’s backyard. You can still plan an amazing day and orchestrate one hell of a dramatic entrance! As long as you get to marry your person, it’s going to be the best day ever.

Highlights: Epic bridal entrance, a motorcycle photo opp, endless wallpaper, and a special first dance.
